Rice powder is obtained by grinding rice grains to a fine powder. It is very soothing and adds a protective film to the skin. It is transparent, medium absorbent, but leaves a matte look with a silky feel. It is a great talc replacement and can be used alone to simply mattify the skin.
Silica is a fine powder of mineral origin (silicon dioxide microspheres = titanium dioxide coated iron oxides), which functions as a filler. It guarantees a perfect looking skin, because it fills fine wrinkles, hides skin imperfections and reflects the light, thus instantly making the skin look younger. The filler is lightly tinted beige, which results in a healthy looking skin. Silica is a translucent colour, characterized by good adhesion to the skin, thus extending the lasting effect of the powder.
Mica is a silicate mineral used in cosmetics for its brilliant or shimmering appearance. It helps reduce the visibility of pores. Mica is also translucent, it ensures optimum dispersion of the pigments, has good adhesion to the skin, extending the lasting effect of the powder.
Another ingredient is magnesium stearate. It is used in mineral makeup as texturizer, opacifier, and non-gelling thickener, it acts as film-forming and anti-caking agent, and also as lubricating agent for enhanced slip and silkiness. It is recognised as safe to use in natural cosmetics.
The herbal extracts of Goldenseal, Oregano, Thyme or Lavender are added to protect and heal the skin because of their astringent and antiseptic properties.
