At Odylique, the journey began with a personal story. Thirty years ago, Margaret Weeds, a Nottingham native, struggled with extremely sensitive skin. Eczema ran in her family, and she, along with her children, battled sore, dry, and itchy patches. In the late 80s, conventional cosmetics and prescription products were the only options, but these often contained harsh chemicals and irritants, making them unsuitable for Margaret’s allergy-prone skin.

A Natural Solution

Determined to find a more natural solution, Margaret turned to her knowledge of herbal medicine and aromatherapy, experimenting with organic herbs, plant oils, and natural active ingredients. The result? A small range of gentle yet effective formulas that worked wonders on her family’s sensitive skin. This success led to the creation of Essential Care in 2003, a company driven by the belief in the power of natural skincare.

While Essential Care was a good fit for the brand at the time, by 2014, after a decade of bringing certified organic skincare and the world’s first Fair Trade makeup to a global audience, the company was ready for a transformation.
