5 steps to correctly apply lipstick to last as long as possible:
1. Preparation always comes first
It is said that if the lips are not prepared in advance, you are preparing for the failure of any lipstick, so always start preparing the lips. Remove any dry and scaly skin that may be present on the lips using peeling and lip balm; this will ensure that the lipstick does not 'stick' to any dry places.
2. Use a concealer or powder as the base
If you want the color of the lipstick to be real, use a concealer or transparent powder as a base. Concealer or powder improves lipstick adhesion, which in turn makes it last longer. Another advantage of the concealer is that it removes the natural shade of the lips, which changes the true shade of the lipstick. Apply the concealer using either your fingers or sponge. Use the brush for the powder.
3. Use a lip pencil
If you are not using a lip pencil, it is time to get to know it, because it is the whole secret of a perfectly 'pouted lips'. Gently trace the outline of your lips with a pencil and fill most of the lip area with it. Lip Pencils provide a great foundation for lipstick and prevent it from 'bleeding' out of the lip contour. If you do not like color lip pencils, there are also transparent ones. In any case, without a pencil you will certainly not achieve the same result as with it.
4. Use a lip brush for accurate application
Applying your lipstick quickly early in the morning when you're in a hurry is definitely tempting, but it's more than advisable to take those extra few seconds and use a brush. This ensures that the lipstick is nicely and evenly layered, which extends its lasting effect. The use of the brush also provides much greater control over the entire application, which is particularly important for those daredevils amongst you that choose bright, pop color shades.
5. The power of transparent powder
Transparent powder is the key to creating a perfect lipstick look that doesn't smudge. As soon as you apply the lipstick (using a brush, remember), gently press on your lips a thin paper tissue. Carefully run the brush with some transparent powder on it over the napkin . This will ensure that any excess lipstick is removed and it will last longer. It is the final step in the correct application of any lipstick and is often used to create a 'matte' effect.
